MuscleTech is one of the biggest manufactures in the supplement business and it is no surprise that these guys come up in the top 10 for creatine supplements. We were looking to start a new creatine cycle and came across MuscleTech Creatine 100% Platinum — Typically our preferred creatine is made by Optimum Nutrition, but since this was on special we thought we’d give it a try.
Honestly, our thoughts on MuscleTech the brand are not that great – When we think MuscleTech we think Cell-tech another product they manufacture which is a bit of joke – Lots of memes … dat dere celltech!
MuscleTech says it this provides your muscles with the most clinically researched form of micronized creatine and briefly mentions a clinical study where participants gained around 6 lbs of muscle in around 6 weeks. Sounds good, so does this seem realistic when you combine this product with a high protein diet, quality work in the gym and plenty of sleep? Lets start by looking at the ingredients.
Ingredients and Appearance
As this product is a creatine powder, it typically would just contain creatine, and yes it does – Creatine monohydrate 5g (per serving). The powder itself, which is white in appearance appears to be a quality creatine and consistent all round.
Taste
MuscleTech creatine is unflavored and it’s great – We’ve had unflavored creatine before that didn’t taste great and it didn’t even mix well. MuscleTech Creatine 100% Platinum really is flavorless and mixes well with anything. It dissolves easy. While testing, we always mixed it with a protein shake which was Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey.
Loading Phase
For the first three days we did the loading phase where we took 4 servings per day. On the forth day, we reduced the servings to two. Our servings were added to our post-workout protein shake. We recommend following Muscletech’s recommened servings that are on the package.
Results
The Bodybuilding.gold team (3) completed around 1 month of using this creatine. After a few days of using the product our overall workout intensity increased and we noticed some water retention. Over the course of the month, we continued working out and taking the recommended serving. We could tell it was working and no one on the team was experiencing any side effects.
Once the month was up we looked at our stats and found on average we gained 7 pounds of muscle and our bench press increased around 25 pounds. We’ve found great strength increases across all lifts.
Our use of this product was actually better than we expected. Size and strength increases across the board, unflavored taste, easy to take and no side effects – Great! We recommend you follow the instructions and ensure you do the loading phase as this makes it more effective overall – it supersaturates your muscle creatine stores. MuscleTech Creatine 100% Platinum works and you should give it a try.
